Morn than 700 years ago, Shanghai was established as a town, and this part was always the center of politics , culture and economic. Long before the foreign concessions and all the highrises, Shanghai was a prosperous Chinese town surrounded with protective walls and bustling with trade and commerce. Even during the concessions’ period, the old town was the only part which still kept as it. This walking tour will take us back in time to see old Classic Shanghai.

Tour Highlights

Flower and Birds Market----the local market is located at the main street , where people can find many kinds of unique birds, special walnuts which was only for practice, and a lot of plants , etc.

 

ShouNing Road---- A Snack Street, specially for the crayfish. When the summer night’s coming, many people will gather together for some snacks and food. Students might for their BBQ, the office workers might have their dinner here, or some old citizens will buy some crayfish and share them with their family.

 

DaJing Pavilion----The only left old city wall and pavilion was built on this 50m city wall.

 

Wet Market----A place where the locals will go to visit everyday , many kinds of vegetables, fruit, and if you are hungry, you may also find the typical food for Chinese breakfast----BAOZI.

 

Shanghai Old Street----Ming and Qing Dynasty building, and a lot of small souvenirs.

 

Shanghai NongTangs---traditional Shanghai buildings and visiting old residential houses in lanes known as NongTang.
