Theme: Explore the ancient Huizhou which is deeply located in the Huangshan, discover the original village simple life, express thanks to the wild nature and life and experience the interesting lunar new year of China.

In the village of China, the lunar new year will last for half month(Feb,3-Feb,17). The period is absolutely the happiest time for the farmers in a year. They are happy to participate in celebrating the festival. In the village, before the eve of spring festival, they are busy in the activities such as hanging the lantern, playing the fireworks, enjoying the family reunion dinner and making good wishes to relatives and so on. The strong feeling of homesickness, the beauty of wild nature, the difference between city and village seem to bring you back to the past or another world. It is absolutely amazing experience for you, a traveler far away from your hometown.

Itinerary

Day 1 Shanghai/Jixi

This afternoon, take the night train from Shanghai and stay on the hard berth tonight.

Day 2 Jixi-Shexian (L/D)

This morning, upon arrival at Jixi, the local English-speaking guide will pick you up from the railway station. Then drive to Jixi, the home of many celebrities, such as president of China PRC, Mr.Hu Jintao, the renowned scholar Mr. Hu Shi and the governor in late Qing dynasty Mr. Huxueyan. This morning, start our exploration tour from Jixi. We will pass by the beautiful village and visit the places we specially recommended.

Lunch, enjoy the local home-made dishes.

Continue to explore the fascinating villages deep in the mountain. We will have the chance to visit the well-preserved ancient architecture, experience the local life. Dinner, enjoy the specially prepared local cuisine. Stay at the themed hotel, Piyun Resort. (3-star hotel)

Day 3 Shexian-Yellow Mountain-Xiuning (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we will drive to visit the well-known world heritage Yellow Mountain, famous for the odd-shaped pine tree and stones, deep canyon, mountain covered by white snow in the winter season which makes it an absolutely fairy tale world.

Dinner, enjoy the special Huizhou Cuisine. Stay at 3 star-hotel.

Day 4 Xiuning (B/L/D)

Today, we will explore the fascinating natural painting gallery in Huangshan which is opened to visitors recently. We can enjoy the beautiful landscapes and the tranquil. Either the clear day or rainy day, it is a place you must not miss. On the way, we will pass by the ancient road, a vast area of primary forest and the alpine tea plantation. We will hike a section along the ancient merchant road based on your personal physical condition. Besides, we will have the chance to taste the local farmer’s dishes. Stay at 3 star-hotel.

Day 5 Xiuning-Shexian-Shanghai (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit the grandeur Tangyue Memorial Arch Group, which was used to cite the women with prominent personality in ancient China. Then visit the famous Yuliang village and its dock where the native businessman left their home for earning money in old times. In the afternoon, take the night train back to Shanghai (Stay on the train at the hard berth) and arrive in the next morning.
