the East Lake

    As the largest lake in the city, the East Lake lies in east part of Wuhan and covers a total area of 82 sq. km. In 2000, the East Lake is inscribed on the list of AAAA Class Scenic Area.

    The East Lake is renowned for its fascinating landscapes and fabulous lake river. It consists of 5 parts and over 100 scenic spots. A vast area of waters, 12 lakes, 120 islets, 34 winding hills and over 667 hectares of forests make the scenic area picturesque and attractive. Every year, it attracts large quantities of arrivals both at home and aboard.
