East Hill
Approximately 40 km away from the downtown of Suzhou, the East Hill is a peninsular extending into Tai Lake. It is surrounded by waters on three sides. With an area of 70 sq. km, there are 23 peaks and 31 ravines.
During its long history, the emperors, the generals, ministers and poets visited here, leaving a large number of historic relic sites. In the town of East Hill, there is still an old stone-paved street that extends nearly a thousand meters and lined with another 34 lanes. Known as “the land of fish and rice”, “the mountain of flowers and fruits”, the town produces more than 50 kinds of famous products such as loquat, green Tea, tangerines and fresh water pearl, etc. |
