Jin Mao Tower
Since its officially opening in 1999, Jin Mao Tower has a height of 420.5 meter with its blend of avant-garde and classic architecture styles has become one of Shanghai’s most representative pieces of modern architecture. The pound work of the world-renowned architecture firm, Skidmore, Owings Merrill, Jin Mao derives its basic design elements from an ancient Chinese pagoda, and blends them with modern concepts. It is currently the fourth highest skyscraper in the world.
Jin Mao Tower is made up of office buildings, the Shanghai Grand Hyatt Hotel, and observation decks, the highest of which is located on the 88th floor, 340.1 meters off the ground. It is the highest observation platform in China and its views of Puxi are spectacular. Glass walls in the deck provide the largest possible field of vision. Two high-speed elevators, traveling at 9.1 meters per second, will rocket you to 88th floor in 45 seconds. |
