Toujiang River

    As the mother river of Fenghuang, Tuojiang River is 131 kilometers long, running through as many as 9 towns. Local people have a close connection with the river. They wash clothes, clean vegetable and swim in the river. On each side of the river bank, you will see the houses with Miao’s style. Some part of the building stretches out to the river with a wooden stick as the support which is unique character in the architectures in China. You can take a boat to enjoy the beautiful riverside scenery and listen to the Miao’s song. In the evening, you will see the dancing performance of the Miao and you can even join them. The natives are passionate and hospitable. They will invite you to taste the local cuisine. Besides, the reflection of the houses in the river illuminated by lights makes the river fascinating.
