Three Gorges Dam
Finished in 2009, Three Gorges Dam has length of 3,035 m and a height of 185 m above sea level. It is the largest cement dam and the No.1 irrigation system in the world. Every year, the dam will generate electricity as many as 84.7 billon KWS.
The super huge project started in 1993 and didn’t finish until 2009. The whole project cost over 90 billon RMB. It not only improves the transportation capacity of Yangtze River, but also reduce the cost of transportation. Now it becomes a hot spot for visitors both at home and aboard.
