The South Lake of Jiaxing
The South Lake lies in the southeast of Jiaxing city with an area of 41.6 hectares. Since Tang Dynasty, it became a famous lake in the south of China for its misty rain beautiful scenery and the charming lake views. Many celebrities and poets had composed countless poems and paintings to describe the views of the lake. It became a hot spot for tourists in ancient times.
In 1921, the first national congress of the Communist Party of China finished the last agenda in a gaily-painted boat on south lake. After that, the earth of China started a series of great revolutions which made the South Lake well-known as a famous revolutionary relic site. Now, it is a park open to the pubic and become a hot spot for tourists in Jiaxing.
