In front of the temple, it is the Haiyin Pool which is the largest one in southeastern China. Puji Temple was originally the "Not-Leaving Guan yin" Temple in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). In the 1080 A.D. in the Song Dynasty, it was rebuilt, moved and granted. In the reign of Kangxi during the Qing dynasty (1699), they started the renovation and ended in 1731 A.D. and expanded the area up to 37,000 sq.m. for the first time ever in its history. The temple consists of 10 halls, 12 towers, 7houses and 7 pavilions, adds to 231 rooms in total.
