Jiaxing Zongzi
As early as Chu state in Warring State (475 B.C.-221 B.C.), Zongzi was originally made in honor of Qu Ruan, one of the greatest poets and politicians in China. It has been handed down from one generation to another for thousands years as a tradition.
Nowadays, Zongzi is more like a common food on list of the breakfast and festival day than a sacrificial article. It has been developed into dozens of designs such as sweetened bean paste, egg yolk, sweet nuts, pork etc. Zongzi of Jiaxing is famous for its nature of fragrant and strong, glutinous rotten and listed among the favorite food in China.
