Qing Ming Bridge
Qingming Bridge lies in the south gate of Wuxi city and cross over the Grand Canal. With its symmetrical shape and firm structure, Qingming Bridge is the most famous site on the Grand Canal in Wuxi which attracts the tourists both at home and abroad.
It is an ancient stone bridge built in late 16 th century in Ming dynasty. It was donated by the local rich family to make it convenient for the local people who lived on both sides of the canal. The bridge is stone arched with one hole, 43.2 meters long, 5.5 meters wide and 8.5 meters high. All the materials are the firm granite. On both sides of its body, there are sculptures indicating the history of the bridge.
