Wenzhou, a mysterious land full of legends and stories, lies in southeast of Zhejiang Province, approaching to the East Sea of China. It covers an area of 11,780 sq.km. with a total population of 7.49 million.
Wenzhou has a long history. As early as the Neolithic period, the ancestors had lived in this land. In Han dynasty (192 B.C.), it was one part of territory of the East Sea Kingdom. In Tang dynasty (675 A.D.), it was firstly given the name Wenzhou. Since then, Wenzhou had prospered and gradually developed into a renowned city.
The new era was starting in 1978. After the Opening and Reform of China, Wenzhou took advantage of the advantaged policies and opened as a trading port. Wenzhou had rapidly developed into a stunning¡¢commercial and well-known international city. The Wenzhou people are even regarded as ¡°China¡¯s Jews¡± who build the business empire both at home and abroad.
