Mt. Jiuhuashan lies in Qing Yang County, south part of Anhui province. It covers an area of 334 sq. km. with a summit height of 1,342 meters.
Since Hang dynasty (202B.C.-220A.D.), Mt. Jiuhua had been known as a scenic area, historic and religious mountain. Many great poets and celebrities referred to the wild nature of Mt. Jiuhua in poems or articles. In Tang dynasty, Jin Qiaojue, an imperial member from ancient Korea, became a monk at his 24 years old. During Kaiyuan Reign of Tang dynasty (713A.D.-742 A.D.), he arrived here. It is said that he created nine mountains in the flat plain which made his legends in this land.
With the typical Alpine climate, Mt.Jiuhua is featured by the late spring, early autumn, short summer and long winter. Every year, large quantities of tourists will come to Mt. Jiuhua for vacation. In the summer days, the average temperature is rather cool around 23 degrees Celsius in the mountain which makes it one of the most famous summer resort in China.
